Down for the Count

Well there is a first time for everything. Today I had some bloodwork done. Don’t worry everyone I am fine, and no I am not pregnant. Haha
I warned the woman that I wasn’t very good with needles but I have never actually thrown up or passed out before…that is until today. Passed out cold. Slid out of the chair, my arms got all stiff and my hand formed a funny fist that I couldn’t get to release for like 10 minutes. I could hear them them saying my name over and over but couldn’t respond. My co-worker had to come pick me up because I couldn’t drive. (thanks Alisha and Barbie) So needless to say I am a big wimp and what am I ever going to do if I really have a major surgery or have a baby…I will be a mess.

Hot Dog it is...

Last night Kelly and Joel had a hot dog or taco party to announce the sex of their future baby. Hot dogs if a boy...well you get it. Some of our friends gathered for the exciting announcement. Congrats to the mom and dad....we had hot dogs for dinner. I can't wait to meet that little guy soon!

Still hooked.

Well, the first book only took me 5 days to read. I went to see Twilight the movie on Wednesday night and it did not disappoint. I cant wait to start reading new moon, that is the second book. Poor Brian, I bet he is sick of me talking about this fictional story. I love love love reading it. I am an official DORK! Movie comes out on DVD in March and we heard that the second movie will be this November :)

The Last Fling Before The Ring!

Saturday night was Laura Sidener’s Bachelorette Party. The Last Fling Before The Ring! 12 ladies headed down to Louisville for the evening. What a blast. We stayed in a hotel that was perfect for all of us. We all got ready and had some snacks and watched her open her gifts before we headed out for the night. She got some really cute things. We played some games that made us all laugh so hard that I am surprised we didn’t have any complaint phone calls.

Then we were off to dinner down on 4th Street Live at Sully’s, after a couple shots for laura and our food it was time to head to Connection, for the drag show. OH MY GOODNESS…that is all I can say to describe the next 2 hours. Out of control. Needless to say that crowd was a little different so we headed back to 4th Street Live for dancing!
Did I mention she rode a mechanical bull? So did Kim, Tracy, and Katie. That was another ab workout from laughter. The next morning we headed home after a long evening of fun. The wedding is coming up soon! Valentines Day will be here before we know it. Great Job to the hostesses!

I'm HOOKED

That’s right…I am hooked on the book Twilight. Many of you know that I don’t really read for fun. I have only read a few books that weren’t a homework assignment in my life. My good friend Alisha saw the movie and like most teeny boppers…oh wait she is 27….fell in love. Haha only kidding Alisha. She bought the first book and read it in less than a week. So yesterday she brought it to me at work. Brian is out of town so I decided I would give it a try. I told myself if I read the first chapter or so and wasn’t hooked I would put it down. Well needless to say 130 pages later I finally went to bed. It is so good. She is currently reading the second one and I am rapidly flipping the pages so we can talk about it. Then of course I will be ready to go see the movie too. I am excited actually about reading a series….I never did the Harry Potter thing but this one I think I will love. So all of those out there that still have a teenage romantic heart should go out and get this one.

BRRRRR

It is so cold right now. My car said -9 today as I was driving in. I heard on the radio that it hasn't been this cold since 1997. Brian has been in Florida all week so he has missed most of this. He will be in for a rude awakening when he gets home tonight. :)

A wonderful woman moves on...

Today is a sad day in Noblesville, IN. A beloved family of the community, one that we all knew and loved lost a loved one today. Lynn Shonk, a firecracker, a loving mother, a wonderful wife passed away today. We all knew her and she meant different things to each of us, but we will all miss her. If you haven't checked out the caring bridge website that allows people to follow cancer patients through their journey. www.caringbridge.org/visit/lynnshonk

It makes me very grateful to have my family, my friends and my health. Lets us all take a moment to be thankful for the lives we live!

What a weekend...

This weekend seemed especially long. With New Years being on Thursday I only had to work one day this week. So this weekend seemed extra long. I am not complaining!!!

Friday we had our first Dining Dozen Dinner with 6 couples. Each couple will have to host twice a year...hosting means you do it all...everyone else shows up to eat and enjoy the evening. The Glenns were the first to host.
Sara and David made a nice spread of appetizers, dinner and dessert. January is Elizabeth's birthday month so we suprised her by singing to her and having an extra big brownie with a candle. She loved it.
Then the rest of the evening was filled with games and of course some laughs. Tracy and Jeremy brought their new puppy Zowie. She is a 9 week old boxer. She is a really good puppy.

Saturday Brian and I continued our goal of being healthier by going to the gym. (i am sore today) Then I went to the mall with Sara. We were there forever. She said she hadn't been at the mall that long since she was in Jr. High......haha we are old. Saturday night we watched the colts game at Kelly and Joel's house. Although we had a great time, I left a little depressed. Our poor colts lost in overtime. It very well could have been Marvin Harrison's last game as a colt. Those of you who know me, know that he is my all time favorite. I will be heartbroken and will probably cry when he either announces his retirement or gets cut from the team. I am hoping for retirement rather than the cut....I could stand to see him in another jersey.
Sunday Sara Glenn and I went to Church (another one of my goals) (I am not calling them resolutions becuase they usually fail....so they are goals). The message was about facing the economic storm with faith. Very interesting perspective on what is truly important. Then we just hung around for a pretty lazy sunday. Tomorrow back to a full week of work....boooo....
