I know. I know. Every time I post I make some promise about how I will do it more often or why it has been so long since my last post. This time...no promises, no excuses...just an update :)

How do you recap 3 months in one blog post? Not sure but here goes. These are not in order...just typing as they come to me.

-Evan walks in fact at times he runs
-Brian and I went on a much needed vacation to Jamaica
-We celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary
-Evan is starting to talk...he says ball, mom, dad, dog, book, duck, bye, no and says jibberish often
-We planted two small trees in our backyard
-Just this past weekend we bought a rocking minivan
-Our wonderful friends Tracy and Jeremy got married
-oh did I mention I turned 30....
-I have become kinda obsessed with Nancy Thayer books, I am on my 6th book of hers...going to read all 21 of them
-Evan still loves Mickey Mouse, pillows, his pacifier and his daddy
-His new loves are flags, Wendy, trees, his blanket, oh and telling me no

Little big man

Yes my little boy is getting so big. He turned one on June 21st. Amazing how quick a year can go and even more amazing that I have only had a child for a year but I cannot imagine my life without him and love him more than anything. Yes I am being sappy for a minute but having a son is life changing and he is by far my best accomplishment of my life. Wow Evan BLair Lassiter you are my world!!!!

He had a big weekend for his birthday. Nancy and Larry came up for the weekend and helped set up for the party on Saturday and the baptism on Sunday. They are always are a big help. I'm so glad they got to be here for the big weekend.

We just tried to have a small birthday celebration because I didn't want to overwhelm him. Just some friends, grandparents and a couple neighbors. We grilled out, opened gifts and ate cupcakes. He had a good time, didn't get too messy and even went to bed fairly on time. He loves his new chair from mommy and daddy. I will post some photos soon I promise. I thought I would be able to post from my iPad but I'm wrong....kinda disappointing!

Yep he sure is...he is crawling. I really thought back when Evan was like 5 months old he would be walking by 10 months but I am not complaining. He just started crawling and that is enough of a change for sure. He took his first couple steps the weekend of Brians birthday party and so my mom and brians mom got to see it. He really didnt do much then but about 5 days later he was totally crawling!

My Aunt Pat and Nancy were staying with us and AP thought it was funny that she got him to crawl and then to leave me to take care of him! haha she was teasing him with Cheerios to get him to crawl. It worked! Those cheerios are amazing.

So needless to say my baby is growing up. He is happier that he can move but I am sure he is sick of me saying NO already. I sound like a bit of a broken record. He is obsessed with the desk drawers in the kitchen nook. I can't get him to stop. He has pinched his fingers pretty hard a couple times but that kid is tough or forgetful...

Oh how time really flies by. I have already bought some stuff for his 1st birthday. Hard to imagine in 2 months he will be a year old. Right now I am just glad he still likes to cuddle with me!

Wow! Another growing family. It must be in the water :)

I am very excited to say an official congrats to Laura and Chad Side! They are expecting their first baby too! It is so wonderful to have friends going through the most amazing transformation ever. Becoming a mother is a true gift from God. Poor Mr. Yogi Bear is going to be in for a rude awakening!!! If I had a glass to raise we would toast to a healthy pregnancy and a beautiful baby! Love you guys!

Official Blog Congrats!

I want to extend my official blog congrats to my best friend Sara (and of course her hubby david)! They are expecting their first baby in August. We are so excited to meet Baby Glenn and find out if it is a she or a he! Im pretty sure they are not finding out the sex of the baby which is super fun. We didn't with Evan and it was one of the most amazing things I have ever done! Cant wait for baby showers, stalking her registry, and just having another mommy friend :) Evan is quite excited also...he loves friends :)

Here's to Sara and David!! You will be fantastic parents. A child is the most precious gift in the world!

Vacation Booked!

Yep, we did it. We booked a vacation. We have been wanting to do this for a couple years now. Last summer I was pregnant and there has always been and excuse....but not this time. Yes I am freaking out a bit to leave Evan for a week but I think it will be really good for Brian and I to have that time together. I will be soaking up the sun at a pool, sleeping past 6 am and taking naps. Oh and eating and drinking myself fat :)

So in July we are headed to Jamaica. An all inclusive Sandals Resort. Super Pumped!

We are staying in one of these Villa's! How cool is that!

Happy St. Pattys Day

Evan enjoyed his first St. Patricks Day with a beautiful walk with our neighbor Melissa and her daughter Grace. It was so beautiful outside we had to take advantage. Mr. Evan has had a bit of a cold this week. A trip to the doctor resulted in...sorry nothing we can do :) At least that is better than ear infection or something else. So we were inside most of the week. Not the best photo...but you get the idea :)

Big Boy Haircut

I have been missing from the blog world so much that I dont even know where to start....So here is a super short recap!

Evan is a growing machine. He sits up, he eats food (baby food that I make but still food), he now nibbles on graham crackers, he cracks up lauging, favorite tv shows are mickey mouse clubhouse, jeopardy, and ellen. He wants to crawl but can't yet. Kinda of glad to keep him my little baby a bit longer :)

A couple weeks ago Brian was off on a monday and we decided to get Evan's hair cut. It had 3 really long pieces that were crazy. So we went off to cookie cutters and he did such a good job. No tears from him or me. He looks alot older with it cut and it looks lighter. You know how I said I didnt cry....well not exactly true.............I didnt cry at the haircut. About 30 hours later...the tears were streaming down my face. Brian didnt know what to do. He thought I had lost it for sure. You would have thought someone died, thats how hard I was crying about the loss of some hair. It is growing back now and in a more even way so it looks nice. HI there all bloggers :)

I am here to type to you that Brian worked on my laptop and I should be able to be connected to the blog world again. If Evan continues to be a better napper then I should be able to post photos and update on my life again.

I post alot about Evan and that is basically all I do now that I stay home but I am still a real person! Excited to watch the bachelor tonight!! I am also trying to get myself pumped up to start P90X a week from today. My neighbor Amy and I are going to attempt it. We might have to skip tuesdays and thursdays but anything is better than my current work out routine...(none) I am proud to say that I way less than I did before I got pregnant but it is all in different spots now...yuck. so hopefully i can get a little more fit instead of flabby.

Happy Belated Birthday to Barbie New...we had lunch today and it was so nice to catch up.

We have had a fantastic 2010 and I hope that 2011 is even better. I am so very blessed with a family that loves us always and friends that never stop making us smile. Yeah it has been way to long since I have posted. I do have an excuse but it makes my blood boil just thinking about it.I have a laptop..it is about a year old...it never wants to connect to our internet which makes me want to throw it out the window most days...and when I do have time to get online upstairs on the desktop that computer doesn't read my memory card from my camera. So although I can get online I cannot post photos. Ugh..enough about that... Here is a post finally.

Evan is amazing. He is such a good baby. Rarely cries, laughs out loud, smiles in the morning when he hears my voice, crazy hair, strong legs and neck, likes a good poop, sleeping in his big boy crib, not through the night yet, loves his grandparents (both sides) and is by far the best thing I have ever done.

Evan even went on his first 9 holes of golf the other day. I hadnt played in almost 2 years and I did pretty good. Evan was so good and enjoyed riding in the golf cart.

Being a stay at home mom (at least for now)...is harder than I thought it would be. I try and do a decent job of keeping the house picked up and getting food on the table...but alot of days I dont shower until 4 or 5 pm. I now watch Ellen, Oprah, and a whole lot of food network.

Evan is also a major TV fan. He will watch it even if we turn his bouncer the other way while we eat dinner...he will stretch his neck all around to see it.

I miss my work friends and my other friends. Being a mom cramps your social style a bit (but worth every second). Love to everyone. Come see us if you are around! Enjoy some pictures!

We are alive

I promise we are still alive. Being home with a newborn and trying to do laundry, nap, find something for dinner, leaves no time for blogging. We have been doing really well. Evan is growing quickly and is 5 weeks old now. I have stepped on the scale and then held him and stepped on the scale and it says 12 pounds. He is starting to get leg rolls. We have had professional newborn photos taken and they are gorgeous. I will post some soon i promise. I am going to the doctor on friday for my 6 week follow up. Weird how quickly time flies by.

Thank you to everyone for their love and support. Brian and I couldnt do this without all of you! Evan is so lucky to have all of you in his life as well.

I will try to be better at updates but who knows.

Its a BOY!!

We did it! We had our sweet baby! Meet Evan Blair Lassiter. He was born Monday, June 21st at 12:24 pm. Weighing in at 8lbs 15oz and 22 inches long. Big Boy! We went to the hospital Sunday night to be induced and Monday we became a parents! I really progressed fast and didnt have to push very long. He was really ready to meet us. I had some issues after he was born. (long scary story) but I am fine now and he is perfect and healthy. We are so happy to have him home with us and watch him grow. We can't wait to spoil him with love and support. Here are some photos!

Ready or Not Here We Go...

Well, today is the day. Brian and I heading to the hospital tonight to be induced first thing in the morning. Pretty hard to believe tomorrow we will be parents. Not only will we get to experience the miracle of life...we will finally get to find out if shim is a she or a he! When this entire process started I never expected to see my due date come and go. But there is a bit of peace just walking into the hospital on my own will and letting the doctors take care of me. So many emotions are running through my body. Excited, Scared, Nervous, Love, and on and on. Next time I post something I will be introducing the blog world to our baby!

Love everyone! I have to be at the hospital in 5 short hours. Gotta go shave these legs :)

End in Sight

Well, I will have this baby someday. Although it doesnt feel like it.

I went to the doctor yesterday and I have started dialating so that is progress. We also scheduled the induce date :) I would go into the hospital on the evening of the 20th, and start the induce process first thing in the morning on the 21st. So if shim doesnt come out before then his or her birthday will be June, 21, 2010 :)

Although I want them to come out any day....it is so nice to know that it is only 10 more days max!!!!

sorry i have been missing from the blog world.

I am just busy not working and waiting for this giant baby to show up. Once shim is born I will actually have exciting news to post about.

Instead all I have are things like, yesterday I cleaned the house with my moms help, tomorrow I am going to the grocery, haha boring.

Hopefully shim will be making his or her debut soon. Not only for my sanity at home but if not he or she is going to be going to the world record on worlds largest baby.

Yep....My last day of work is this friday. I have been working as a marketing coordinator for The Precedent Companies for the past 4 years. It at times was hard, stressful, I would complain, etc but all in all it has been wonderful. The economy is getting the best of us and I have been laid off. I have made it serveral rounds of lay offs and now it is time to send me home. It is bittersweet to say the least. Brian and I are busy getting ready for baby shim and that is all that really matters. But as someone who has always had a job...it is hard to be told not to come anymore even if it is a good thing.

This is a picture of me during happier times in my office. I met alot of wonderful people at work, made some close friends and gained knowledge that I never had before. So long workforce.....hello unemployment and motherhood :)

Shim Update

I need to post the photos but I am at home and they are at work. I will post soon I promise.
We had an regular doctor appointment last week and an ultrasound because I am measuring large. (surprise...if you have seen me lately you would know that is true!!)

The appointment went well. everything was normal. We did find out from the ultrasound that Shim is large. Measuring about 3 weeks larger than he or she really is. We also learned that he or she has alot of hair already. We are going to have another ultrasound at 36 weeks (right now I am 33) to monitor the size and then again at 38 weeks if we havent had the baby yet.

I am getting a big uncomfortable now. It is harder to breath and get comfy when sitting now. We are getting all ready for Shim...we cant wait to meet him or her and introduce all of you to shim!

Baby Showers Galore

First let me say that Brian and I are so lucky to have such a great support system for us and "shim". Our family and friends came together and gave us the best baby showers!

First was Brian's side of the family over Easter Weekend. It was a combo shower for us and Diane who is getting married in August. It was so great to share the attention because you know i do not like being the center of attention....especially at a shower. We had a great brunch , played some games and opened gifts. My mom even traveled down to Evansville which was a fun treat. We had a great time.

Second was a Diaper Party/Cookout with some friends. Such a great way to hang out and enjoy the company of our friends while collecting a few diapers! 888 diapers to be exact in all different sizes. We will go through those before you know it. We had lots of laughs....i made brian open those gifts :)

Third was a girlfriend shower with friends i have had since I was 10 to college friends, to work friends, etc. It was so fun. Another YUMMY brunch, a fun memory game (tracy and i tied...but i let her win the prize since it was my shower) Lots of gifts to open...which is hard for me...i start to sweat!

Last but certainly not least, was my side of the family shower along with some family friends. The shower was at my house so i felt a bit more relaxed. We ate lunch, played some games and everyone got a tour of the nursery.

Miles is One!!

My friend Barbie has the most adorable little boy named Miles. Well he is such a big boy! He just turned 1. Barbie did a fantastic job planning his party. She even made a home made birthday banner. I was very impressed. He loved his cupcake and enjoyed playing with his friends. Time really flies. I remember him being born like it was yesterday. Enjoy some photos of Miles Dan the Birthday Man!

Good News

They say it’s the little things in life. Well “They” are right. I had my Gestational Diabetes test on Monday. I was not looking forward to it for numerous reasons…

I don’t do well with bloodwork
I am already border-line diabetic and take medication
I was sure I would fail and have to return for the dreaded 3 hour screening
My doctor told me I was at higher risk than most

Well…..I PASSED! Yes not only do I not have to return for the 3 hour test…I do not have gestational diabetes. You would think I hit the lottery…my smile is so big. Although it wasn’t all good news. I am now anemic and have to start taking some iron pills daily but they said that is pretty common for pregnant women.

At my doctor appointment I gained a lot more weight, but Dr. Hayes wasn’t really concerned which is good because my only other option would be to start dieting. And now I start going to see her every 2 weeks instead of 4 because now I am in the third and final trimester. I guess this is really happening!

or should I say....BUMP update. I should learn from previous photos that I need to turn completely to the side instead of this angle shot....it makes me look way bigger than I am. I mean dont get me wrong I am huge but I think this makes me look like I am 9 months...when in reality I have 3 more to go. Only 1 more week and then we are in the third trimester. HOLY MOLY I AM GOING TO HAVE A BABY SOON!!!

And i probably shouldnt take photos on rainy days...doesnt do much for the look. OH Well....

Baby Registry

Well we did it. We braved both Target and Babies R Us on Saturday morning to register for Shim....for those who haven't heard....sometimes I call the baby shim since we dont know what he or she is.....I like it better than it...haha I am crazy.

We started at Target and it was pretty easy (thier selection is limited) and then headed to Babies R Us. It was harder for sure. Both of our registeries say that we havent really registered for enough items but I don't see how that is possible. Who knew shopping for something could be so hard.

Feel free to give me recomendations if you see something i am missing, etc. I also cant stop thinking about it. Thinking maybe I should switch this for that or get it at target vs Babies R Us. I was awake last night from 3-4:30 in the morning just thinking about it....oh my.

UPDATE:
The belly is growing at what I say is a rapid pace. Maybe this little person will make their debut a bit early... I need some more shirts...haha add it to the list huh.

Sewing Fest 2010

We had a big weekend at the Lassiter household! Brian's parents came up and we put them to work:)

Brian and his dad had a honey do list. Hang a curtain rod, install 2 lights, hang paintings, fix drywall, hang a shelf, etc etc Brian's mom Nancy was the seamstress (my mom came to help also) and my job was to cut fabric, iron and make the meals. We got so so much done. We made a bumper for the crib, a long curtain, a crib skirt, a blanket and a pillow. I just have a couple of final touches to do by hand but other than that we are about done.

Check out the pictures of the nursery. I am so happy with it. I also made had a craft project of a little stool.....i got the idea from cole's room so of course I had to try to make one on my own. I am just waiting till the baby is born so we can add the name. There are also some belly shots on the photo gallery...I am growing fast. This baby better slow down or we are going to make the record books.

Second Ultrasound

Well today was our second ultrasound. We are at 20 weeks so it was much different than the first one. I had to drink ALOT of liquid before the appointment...anything other than milk. So I had orange juice and water. The technician asked if I had drank coffee becuase the baby was moving all over the place and she had a hard time getting it to stay still enough to take the measurements. I guess I gave the baby a sugar high from all the OJ. It made me laugh to watch her try to catch it just right.

Everything looked good, the baby weighs about 14 ounces and she said it has long legs and a good size head. Hopefully it wont be my dad's head....we call it the freakishly large head. haha

She also said that she could tell what the sex was but didnt tell us. There was a brief moment of "Okay just tell us" but we stayed strong so it is still a suprise. She doesn't even tell the doctor. It was really fun to watch. They also recorded it all on DVD so we can watch it at home again. Ahhh technology. Here are two photos of the baby.

Oh and I forgot to mention that my belly seems to be growing pretty quickly now and I gained 9 pounds from my last appointment. I gained 2 prior to that for the entire time. I guess 11 pounds in 5 months isnt bad but I hope I dont gain 9 every 4 weeks or I will be in trouble.

I wanted to send a special thanks to all of my family and friends for their advice, books, and items to help us along in this pregnancy. (I try to be politically correct and say our pregnancy instead of my pregnancy but let’s be real…Brian isn’t starving and growing like I am..hahaha)

I have been given books to read, tips for sleeping, bella band (thanks Barbie), and maternity clothes (thanks Kelly)….but so far my favorite piece of advice has been to enjoy it. It goes so fast and then all of a sudden I am given this wonderful gift from god…our child. I need to cherish each day of this pregnancy no matter how I am feeling or looking.

We are so lucky to have such supportive family, friends and neighbors. I cant wait to share all this love with our future little one!

Pregnancy Update:

We are over 19 weeks now and we are heading to the doctor for our 2^nd ultrasound and our 20 week appointment on February 2^nd. So weird that it will be half over by then. We have started painting the nursery and hope to finish that this week. The furniture is being delivered and installed on Saturday so that is going to be exciting. It went from an empty room last week to a nursery on Saturday. I will post some photos this weekend after it arrives. Then in a couple weeks Nancy (Brians’ mom is coming up for a sewing marathon and we are going to work on the baby bedding. It is so fun that we get to have custom stuff! The nursery is lime green and Navy and once the little bambino is born we will add splashes of color depending on the sex.

First Time for Everything

Well this weekend has been full of firsts for me. On friday evening, I wore maternity pants for the first time....I also wore them on Saturday. Lately as I have been growing I just wear dresses with leggings and boots (which I am sure I will continue to do for the most part) but maternity pants made an appearnce. Really you would think they would make them a bit more comfortable....

The other first was friday evening and a little bit every day since then I have started to feel the baby more. It is a bit odd to say the least....not really sure how to describe it. It has been described as a butterfly or gas and it is probably a good combo of the two.

We are 18 weeks pregnant now and I am pretty sure we have offically decided to not found out the sex...but I am still really anxious for our ultrasound on February 1st.

I can't even believe I am going to post this. I look kinda gross. hahaha

Anyway....in certain clothes I still dont look very pregnant. I am still wearing my regular clothes with the help of a bella band. Today, this sweater is a little snug (not to mention it is that way even when I'm not prego) So I was laughing at myself in the bathroom mirror at work because I feel like I look huge. I am not huge, and kinda doing a funny dance which makes me look bigger but the purple sweater has probably seen its last snowy day this winter.

Im sure that later I will look back and realize this is nothing...

First Purchase

So I guess go big or go home. Our first purchase for the baby was bedroom furniture. Not a onesie or a toy...a crib, dresser, and changer. I asked for advice on the blog and on facebook. Thanks to everyone who helped. The overwhelming recommendations were to go to Decor 4 Kids in Noblesville. After searching endlessly online, etc we decided the quality, service and warranty were worth a couple extra bucks.

So we did it. We bought Bonivita Baby Furniture in the Peyton Collection. We ordered it in classic white because I really am envisioning dark walls and that way the furniture will really pop. You know another great thing about it....it is all solid wood, and so sturdy. AND they deliver and assemble the furniture for you

Well I am on the hunt for baby furniture....not ready to purchase but want to make a mental decision.

BUT, Indy doesnt have alot of options when it comes to furniture. So I am looking for some hidden jems. Anyone know of stores or online options I might not have thought of. Oh and ps. I am on a budget...pottery barn, land of nod all adorable but all not realistic for me.

Missing for a Reason

Yes I have been missing from the Blog world. Well I have a good reason.

Brian and I are Pregnant!!!

Well, Im pregnant and he has been taking care of me. I am finally starting to feel better and get my energy level back up. We are into the second trimester now! June 19 is the big date....so mark you calendars.

We are very excited and I will for sure start to post more information soon and keep you updated on our progress.

Right now we are not sure if we are going to find out the sex of the baby. I am really leaning towards it being a suprise.

I cant wait to be a mommy...and I have to admit...I think brian will be a fantastic father!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We headed to Evansville to visit with Brians family. After lots of food and fun we will be heading home tomorrow. I even did some black friday shopping at 5 am to get a new camera! Success!!!

Suprise for Brian

So Brian was out of town this weekend and I suprised him with some work on our basement. I put carpet tiles down, painted, bought and assembled a ping pong table (well I really didnt...it would not have gotten put together if it werent for my roomies Rocky and Lindsay) colts chairs, etc etc.
When he got home I gave him a present...they were colts ping pong paddles...he said "did you get me a table?" I couldnt take it I was so excited we had to run down and see it. Enjoy the photos! He loves it!

On a rainy Friday evening Brian, myself, and our friends Tracy and Jeremy went to the Kings of Leon Concert. It was a very very good show. If you are not a huge fan of their music I think you could still appreciate how great they sounded. I have seen numerous bands not put on a good show or the sound was bad…but not Kings of Leon. They were really pumped because it was the largest crowd they had ever performed in front of before. We had a good time!!!

Yep I am another year older. Nothing to exciting about turning 28…just closer to 30. It is hard to believe that I am 28…I feel like I could be in highschool still (that could be a stretch) but at least college. Now I probably look old to people who are in college….gross! My birthday was very nice. Dinner at Ale and then some of us hit up the new Dave and Busters in Castleton. It was way nicer than I anticipated so that was good. And Jeremy won a very large stuffed animal from the biggest grabber claw thing ever. Quite funny! I also raced Chad, Brian and Jeremy on a Nascar race game and came away the big winner. I know my brother and dad would be proud! Thanks everyone for a great birthday.

Well its that time of year again! Colts season has officially started. Mom, dad, brian and I headed downtown to the first regular season home game on Sunday. The weather was beautiful. We tailgated for a bit and then cheered on the colts for a win. It wasnt the most exciting win ever, but we will take it. I got a new jersey...44 Dallas Clark!

Yes, we celebrate Wendy’s birthday every year. Nothing over the top just a special treat and sometimes a new collar or something. This year she received a plate of chopped up grilled chicken and a walk!

We do not know her exact date of birth but we celebrate her birthday on the day we got her. When we got her from the shelter she told us she was around 2 or 2.5 years old. Since I want her to be as young as possible I say she was 2. So this year, the big girl turned 8. It is amazing to think that we got her 6 years ago. What a wonderful dog she has been. I hope she enjoyed her birthday!

Family Gathering

Brian’s mom and dad do a great job at getting the family together so we all stay in touch. This is the third time the fam has met in Fairfield Glades, Tennessee for a long weekend. Brian’ brother Bart and his wife Jennifer and the boys Ethan and Brayden, Brian’s sister Jennifer and her husband Brett and Grace, Audrey and Luke, The rents Nancy and Larry and Brian and I all had a good ol time!

Thursday night we arrived and did our usually kids watch a movie adults playing board games, drinking beer and laughing till we cry. Friday and Saturday was fun filled with time at the pool, the lake, some shopping while the guys played golf and of course eating. On Saturday afternoon we rented a pontoon boat and the we swam and jumped around…(well they swam…I am a chicken and stayed in the boat) Sunday we packed up the condo and headed home. Besides our long drive both ways it was a fantastic weekend! See you again next year Fairfield Glades!

Billy Joel Under the Stars

A wonderful evening under the stars with friends, food and fun. What a perfect friday night. Sara, David, Tracy, Jeremy and Brian and I went to Symphony on the Prairie and listend to the music of Billy Joel. It was super fun.

We all brought a side dish to share and our own fried chicken. It was such a grown up picnic. The ladies played a game of uno waiting for concert to start. I really enjoyed it and I hope we can go again sometime soon or at least next summer.

July Dining Bakers Dozen

Back at the Beginning. July Dining Dozen is officially made its half way point. Well June was really the half way point but we are back and the beginning with hosts. Sara and David were the first to host in January and they hosted July. It was super festive. It was a luau. Complete with grass skirt around the food table, Hawaiian themed meal, and the most adorable fish bowl drinks. Just a typical Sunday evening dinner.... (the sara's being festive)

It was also a special treat because Mr. Cole joined us. So really we were the Dining Bakers Dozen.

The weather was nice so we played corn hole and bocce ball after dinner. Who knew elizabeth was a secret bocce ball champion…she kicked everyone’s butt. Thanks Sara and David for starting this wonderful monthly dinner club and thanks for great dinner. Next month is Tracy and Jeremy….oh what will it be? The suspense is killing me.

4 years and still going

Brian and I celebrated our 4th anniversary on Thursday. It is amazing to think that we have been married for 4 years already. Time really flies. We recieved alot of nice cards, phone calls and facebook notes wishing us a happy anniversary.

We have started the tradtion of going someplace for dinner that we have never been before.

1st - Mitchells Fish Market

2nd - Bonefish Grill (we had been there before though...we just like it)

3rd - The Hamilton (quaint little restaurant in downtown Noblesville.

This year we went to Petersons.

It was very good and the atmosphere was quiet and romantic. We both had the best steaks we had ever had. My martini was so strong I couldnt finish it, but all in all it was a wonderful evening.

Thanks to my husband for being my best friend and for a great 4 years. Can't wait to see where we will be and where we will go on our 5 year.

Deck Addition

On Saturday, My friend/co-worker Bret and his family came to our house for a little deck construction. Bret did the construction and Brian assisted. My job was to entertain Sara his wife and his two daughters Sophie and Brenna. Of course I had the best job! We went to the mall and the park. We had a great time! The boys were stuck doing the physical labor.

Now Brian and I have to decide to either add railing or benches, etc....aaahh the life of a homeowner!

No Doubt/Paramore Concert

Yep, you read that right. The same girl who went to the New Kid Concert also went and rocked out to Mad Girl Music at the No Doubt/Paramore Concert. Needless to say the group I was with was by far the most "normal" group there. I am sure the other people were really nice they were just a bit odd looking.

Anyway the concert was amazing. I started listening to Paramore when I got the Twilight soundtrack (yeah i know i am crazy) and I really like them. As far as No Doubt I just know the radio hits. Well it was by far one of the best concerts I have ever been too. The crowd was into it. The music was great, Gwen Stephani was so nice to the crowd and she sounded amazing. It was really fun to see 25,000 people jumping at the same time...we looked like an ocean. We went in celebration of Lindsays Birthday! I know she enjoyed it.

So if anyone has a chance to go to it...I highly recommend. Enjoy some pictures!

A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new young wife had bought the exact same dress as her mother! Jennifer asked her father's new young wife to exchange it,but she refused. Absolutely not, I look like a million bucks in this dress,and I'm Wearing it,' she replied..

Jennifer told her mother who graciously said, 'Never mind sweetheart. I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special day.' A few days later, they went shopping and did find another gorgeous dress. When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother, 'Aren't you going to return the other dress? You really don't have another occasion where you could wear it. Her mother just smiled and replied, 'Of course I do, dear.I'm wearing it to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding.'

June Dining Dozen

Dining Dozen in June was awesome. The only thing that was missing was Sara and David otherwise it was absolutely perfect! We even had a couple visitors... Jordan and Cole! It lasted from about 12 to 12 at the Sideners glorious backyard. We swam, drank, played games, broke diving boards, ate until we were sick and laughed! It was so much fun...the best summer day anyone could ask for . Thanks again to Laura and Chad for being such great hosts. Thanks to Laura's parents for lending us their home for 12 hours. New Kids Concert

aaahhh....I felt like I was 10 again. As you know from an earlier post...I won 2 tickets to see New Kids on the Block. What I didn't know at the time was that Jesse McCartney was the opening act! extra awesome.

I wasnt sure what to expect...would they be terrible, would it be boring? NO and NO. It was so fun, Lindsay and I danced for the entire 2 hours, the old songs were fun, the new songs were pretty good and the show was very entertaining. Needless to say I would actually pay to go again. SO MUCH FUN!

New Buffalo, MI Trip

Brian and I took a vacation close to home! New Buffalo, Michigan. It was a one tank trip, but we felt like we were really far away. There was a beautiful harbor, a beach, shops, a casino, etc. I would definitely go back there. I think it was our first trip with just the two of us since our honeymoon…hahah and we don’t even have kids. It was very relaxing and the condo/hotel we stayed at was super modern and really friendly staff. I give our trip 2 thumbs up!

A couple summers ago we built some cornhole boards. (with the help of elizabeth and doug) We planned to paint them then....well about 2 summers later I am finally getting around to it. They arent 100% complete yet, I am adding a checkerboard pattern around all the edges. Once they are complete I will be excited.

What a fun Saturday Night. We always do the same things on the weekends. Not that I am complaining my usual weekends are great but sometimes it is fun to do something different. 8 of us went downtown to an Indians Game. We ate at Bourbon Street Distillery which was yummy and then headed to the baseball game. It was great weather until the end but other than that it was a perfect saturday night.

The weekend is already gone. Seems it went about as fast as the cars themselves. We had a good weekend with beautiful weather and a good race. Of course I won zero dollars in the race pools. We will just call my 45 dollars a donation to the rest of the winners. Brians dad Larry was the big winner of the race pools. He had Helio in a $20 dollar pool and Danica in a $5 one. Brian had Dan Wheldon in $20 so he didnt do too shabby either. The biggest accomplishment is that I didnt get sunburned. My legs were glowing white and I was pretty nervous that I would be friend but not even red the next day. :)

Monday as expected we were pretty lazy resting from the big weekend. Cant wait til next year!

Brett, Colleen and Morgan are coming in town today and Brians dad is even making it up for the festivities. Carb Day, Race Party Saturday Night, Race on Sunday, sleep on Monday. Yes you are reading this right. A couple weeks ago brian and I were driving to Elizabeth and Doug’s house and I heard the touch tones on the radio station. I had been in the car all day so I heard that they were giving away concert tickets. Well needless to say not many people are trying to win concert tickets at 7 on a Saturday night….but this girl was the lucky caller 9 and the proud winner of 2 tickets to the New Kids On The Block Concert in June. I was so excited I could bearly form a sentence. SO PUMPED. I wanted to go but didn’t think I would be able to find anyone willing to pay over 20 bucks to go see them!

So sometimes my creative juices just start to flow. Sometimes when I start something I am dissapointed in the end because it looked better in my mind than it does in real life. This project is growing on me. I have been painting some canvases because I am cheap and art is expensive. So I was planning on just painting this a solid color so I could paint a design on top of it but then I just got a little carried away. here is the final product. Its not a masterpiece but it looks pretty cool in our upstairs hallway. Total investment - 12 dollars! If I decide I dont like it I can just repaint over it.

Dad update

Many of you know my dad was in the hospital for an emergency appendectomy on thursday. He had to stay in the hospital longer than we had hoped but he got released today and is starting to feel a bit better. He still has some pain but hopefully that will be better soon. Meet Miles Daniel New

Yep, I am a little late in posting this but better late than never. My friend Barbie and her husband Harley welcomed their precious litte (actually big) boy into this world on April 9th. He is so adorable. He has so much hair...complete with hightlights and sideburns. He was 8lbs 15 oz and 22 inches long. Mom and dad couldnt be happier. I have seen him twice and I cant wait to see him again.... LOVE HIM!!!

My Aching Back...

Yep. I can barely move today. Brian and I spent all day Saturday landscaping in our front yard. Brian woke up to play golf early so I got up and headed to lowes to pick out some new plants. I was quite a site to see. First getting the mulch bags on my cart was hard but it was even harder to get the plants and tree and bags of mulch into my car. I drove all the way home with my hatch all the way open. I am sure I made a lot of people mad driving 30. haha….Then the manual labor began. 7 hours later we were done. We still have more to do but I will at least have to wait until I can move again. We ripped out 4 shrubs, planted 2 new boxwoods and a white dogwood tree and mulched all around. I also added little solar yard lights. Next will be some grasses and flowers. If only I had a greener thumb and huge wallet… Check out the before and after. It is hard to see the little tree!

April Dining Eleven

Unfortantely the Dining Dozen was one short this time around. We missed you Miss Sara Glenn. She was busy working hard! This month Brian and I were the hosts. Let me tell you cooking for 12 is probably difficult no matter what you cook, but we made breakfast and that was really hard. The timing and making sure everything was warm was very hard. We had lots of food...everyone loves a good breakfast for dinner every now and again. We had scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, turkey sausage, french toast, fruit, and biscuits (the gravy didnt turn out) complete with bloody marys, mimosas and baileys w/coffee.

We had a great time. Next month is Elizabeth and Dougs month. Cant wait to see what we have then :) p.s. since it was breakfast I told everyone to wear their pajamas. Not everyone did, but at least david showed up in his snuggy!

Kelly's Baby Shower

So on friday night laura, chad, doug, elizabeth, brian and I headed out to eat. We went to a new place that has a hibatchi grill. The food was delicous, our check "G" was hilarious and laura and chad thought it would be a good idea to tell a fib and say it was Elizabeth's birthday. So she was the main focus of the chef's jokes, and the night was complete with drums, songs, and a bang of the gong! Doug was laughing so hard I thought he was going to fall out of his chair. We had to much fun! We will for sure go back.... whose birthday will it be?

Not sure the exact number of people but The Keirns hosted a large crowd for dinner. It was Thanksgiving in March. It was delicous. Complete with a fried turkey, stuffing, mashed potatos, Ham, rolls, and March Madness. We played games and watched the games after we stuffed ourselves. The food was great and the company was fun. Good job guys. Brian and I host in April. Cant wait!!!

Twilight Release Party

Yep, its true. If you read this blog you already know that I am obessed with Twilight, both the movie and the books. Well the dvd was released on Saturday morning. I woke up early (before my alarm that was set for 6:40) and got to target about 7:30...it opens at 8. There was a line at the door and I was in it. hahaha hilarous. (at least I can make fun of myself)

Noon...I had a Twilight release party for some of my fellow Twilight readers. Sara, myself, Danielle, Courtney and Alisha ate lunch (complete with twilight themed labels...and the soundtrack in the background) and then watched the movie....they all liked it or at least lied to me....

In the afternoon I took a nap, cleaned the house and watched all the dvd extras. :)

Evening...headed over to Lindsays house for another twilight release party. Yep watched it more than once that day....we had fondue and then watched edward in a giant tv. the blue-ray and surround sound were amazing. I went to bed a satisfied fan. Or pathetic fan...hahaha

Now I have to wait until November for the New Moon movie (sequel for you non-twilighters)

Wedding Bells

Yes another couple heading towards the altar! Many of you know our awesome friends Marty and Kelly. They have been together for years but never had the urge to tie the knot. (it was an often joke to say kelly was his common law wife).... Well the wait is over. Kelly wrote me an email last week and towards the end of the email she snuck it in that oh by the way we are getting married. haha sounds like them! We couldnt be happier and cant wait for the wedding. Although I am tiny bit sad, because Marty is my boyfriend...and Kelly is Brians girlfriend.... i guess we can keep our love sqaure going on even if they get married.

Barbie's Baby Shower

Today was Barbie's baby shower. Alisha and I threw her a small shower for her future little baby boy. We cant wait to meet him. He will be here in about 5 weeks or so. Time really flies. We had some afternoon sweet trerats and played a game. It was a price guessing game of baby items... Lindsay won. She even declared that she would be the worst one at it...and came away the winner. We all enjoyed the sunshine and the company.

Great Weather

It deserves a post. Finally warm weather is here(or at least for a while). Nancy came up to visit and we walked around downtown noblesville, besides some wind it was beautiful. Brian played the first round of golf in 2009 and we even have the windows open. Ahhh so nice to not be freezing. I hope everyone no matter where they live is enjoying nice weather too.

Happy 1 week Birthday Ben

Last night Brian and I went to Tara and Kevin’s house for dinner. (Kevin is a really good cook, he made pork tacos!)

It was 1 week since little Mr. Ben was born. He is so adorable. He basically just sleeps and looks cute all day. As for Ms. Emma she runs around like a toddler but is still as adorable as always. We love hanging out with the Frates. We are really going to miss them when they move to St. Louis. Check out the adorable pictures.

Yes it is true. Brian has a boyfriend. I am okay with it. They love to hang out, they laugh all night together, they miss each other if it has been longer than a week than they have seen each other, it is quite a site. hahaha we love hanging out with Kelly and Joel.

Must be a popular name. Our friends Tara and Kevin had their second baby! The proud parents welcomed Benjamin Avery Frate on Tuesday February 24, 2009. He was approx 20 inches long and 8 pounds 8 ounces. I went today to the hospital to meet him and visit with the rents. He is so adorable. I cant wait to watch him grow. His big sister Emma was with the grandparents today but I can’t wait to see them all together! Beautiful family! Good job mom and dad. Enjoy a couple pictures I took with my phone.

Seriously….if this were in your food what you do?

Recently I was with some friends and this “thing” was in Sara Glenn’s salad. After receiving a salad with pears on it when she specifically asked for the one without pears she gets down into it and out pops this “thing”. At first she is calm saying to herself it’s a leaf or a root but as soon as Kim and I layed eyes on it, it was over. Laughter, tears, gags, etc. It totally looks like a grasshopper. In fact that the rest of the weekend we could just say the word grasshopper and we would start laughing out loud. Now I am really sure that it was a harmless field green of some sort but HOLY CRAP. It basically ruined her appetite to say the least. I couldn’t even look at it with out feeling sick…we had to wipe away the tears in our eyes and hide it in a napkin so we could finish our lunch.

Good times! Laughter really is the best medicine.

The New Mr. & Mrs. Side

It's official...Laura and Chad are married. It was a fantastic Valentines Day for all. The weekend was so much fun. First we had a bridesmaid luncheon on Friday at the Scholars Inn on Mass Ave, then the rehearsal at the church, rehearsal dinner ath Sklyline Club and drinks at Nicky Blaines. Saturday morning I headed down to help out around the hotel and at the church and at 5:30 sharp the wedding ceremony began.

First of all Laura was such a beautiful bride, the weather was nice, I read my scripture reading with no mistakes :) The sparklers were a hit, the reception was beautiful, the pineapple upside down martinis were delicous, the photo booth was hilarous, the speeches were tear jerking, the food was great, we danced all night and at the end they even had little cheeseburgers. Woo, can you tell I love weddings.

Everything was so much fun. Thank you so much to Mr. & Mrs Sidener and Happy 34th wedding anniversary and Thanks to Laura and Chad for letting us be part of your special day!

All good things must come to an end

Yes, it is sad but true. I am finished reading all 4 Twilight series books. Many of you know about my embarrasing obession. Well I am still obessed and cant wait to have the movie come out on DVD and for the second Movie in November....but for now I will be giving it a break. I will read the first and second book again before the second movie but I think it will be good for my marriage if i take a break for a while. hahahah

My friends who have started reading it have not been quite as obessed as Alisha and I, but they do enjoy them I have to say the third and fourth books are so amazing. Good bye for now twilight :)

Visiting Toledo with the Pollerts

This past weekend Brian and I drove (Brian drove, I just read my book) to Toledo to visit our friends Bill and Wendy and their newest addition Annebelle Leigh! We had a great time visiting and catching up with them! Friday night Wendy made us dinner and we just hung out at the house. Saturday the ladies (including 3 month old Annebelle) went to see “He’s just not that into you” at the movies. It was really good and Bells (cute nickname huh!) was a perfect angel. Sunday we headed home after a fun weekend. Brian and I were so happy to finally meet Bells…not that we weren’t excited to hang out with Bill and Wendy.

This time it was the Eating Eight…

Our monthly dinner party as we like to refer to it as the “Dining Dozen” was the Eating Eight this month. Unfortunately we were missing the Keirns and the Glenns. But that did not mean we ate less…haha Tracy and Jeremy hosted this time around.

The Hosts

The theme…Mardi Gras! Complete with beads, decorations, red beans and rice, gumbo, appetizers and dessert. It was so good. I was nervous because I have never eaten gumbo before but it was so so good. My compliments to the chef(s)! Of course little miss Zoey was there too. Although she is growing at a rapid pace so she isn’t quite as little. Still a very sweet and loving puppy. Zoey kissing Bri-guy!

I take full advantage of her being small enough for me to hold. Soon she will be able to kick my butt. Brian and I have been trying to think of ideas for when we host in April. Cant wait.

Benjamin Brock Barry Gets Baptized

Say that three times really fast! On Sunday morning we headed up to Muncie for My cousin Mindy’s new baby Benjamin’s baptism. He did such a good job. Some tears before and after but not during. He is such a beautiful little guy. Good Job Mindy and Lance. The service was very nice and there was a lot of family present. We then all headed back to Aunt Melinda and Uncle Johns house for a while. Ben also was making his modeling début with the photographer Mary Ellen Bertram! She was the photographer at both Mindy and Lance’s wedding and our wedding. I cant wait to see the pictures! Check out the little guy…isn’t he so adorable!

Down for the Count

Well there is a first time for everything. Today I had some bloodwork done. Don’t worry everyone I am fine, and no I am not pregnant. Haha
I warned the woman that I wasn’t very good with needles but I have never actually thrown up or passed out before…that is until today. Passed out cold. Slid out of the chair, my arms got all stiff and my hand formed a funny fist that I couldn’t get to release for like 10 minutes. I could hear them them saying my name over and over but couldn’t respond. My co-worker had to come pick me up because I couldn’t drive. (thanks Alisha and Barbie) So needless to say I am a big wimp and what am I ever going to do if I really have a major surgery or have a baby…I will be a mess.
